David Kariuki Ngare alias Gakuyo lawyer attacked outside Milimani Law Courts

A lawyer representing David Kariuki Ngare alias Gakuyo was on Thursday attacked outside the Milimani Law Courts as he prepared to appear before the judge.

The lawyer was roughed up by members of the public believed to be victims of the Ekeza Sacco scam as they vented their frustrations over lost money.

Security guards and police officers were seen attempting to save the lawyer from being lynched.

They managed to secure his release and safe passage through the angry crowd though his clothes were torn in the process.

Despite the police intervention, members of the public continued to bay for his blood and taunt him as he was shielded by police in uniform.

DCI invites defrauded Ekeza Sacco members to record statements

On Wednesday the Directorate of Criminal Investigations invited all members of the public who had been defrauded by any of Ngure's three establishments: Gakuyo Real Estate, Ekeza Sacco and Gakuyo Investment Club.

"Carry with you bank statements showing withdrawal and deposit agreements, deposit slips, receipts and any other document relevant to the dealings," the statement instructed.
