Detectives have arrested an Administration Police Constable identified as Eric Mutuma in connection with the horrifying assault of a 3rd year Kibabii student who was raped and her hand chopped off.

The DCI stated that the officer based at Tuuti police camp who was arrested on Friday (22 Nov 2019) will remain in custody as he awaits trial on Monday, November 25th.
In an incident that shocked the nation,The Kibabii University Student was attacked as she was headed home in the company of her friends on Thursday.
Her friends managed to escape and unfortunately, she was left behind in the merciless arms of the attacker who raped her and chopped off her arm.

The attacker then tied a barbed wire on the bleeding stem of the upper limb.
The victim’s arm was found an hour later on the roof of a house in the neighborhood wrapped in her bra.
The student is still receiving treatment at Bungoma West Hospital.
