Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations into the murder of Moi University student Ivy Wangechi.
She was hacked with an axe in broad daylight

In a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, the DCI further outlined that they had the prime suspect in their custody.
"Detectives have commenced investigations following the brutal killing of Ms Ivy Wangechi - a sixth year Medical student at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
"The suspect; 28-year-old Naftali Njahi Kinuthia was arrested and is helping the Detectives in the Investigations," the statement read.
Murder in broad daylight
Ms Wangechi was hacked with an axe on Tuesday morning outside the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The suspect is said to have been waiting for Wangechi at the gate, armed with an axe and a knife in a sack.
Boda boda operators near the gate witnessed the scene and ganged up to burn the suspect alive.
He was rescued and admitted at the hospital where he was receiving treatment for severe burns.
