Details of Uhuru's private visit to Magufuli's home this weekend
Kenya's relationship with Tanzania has recently faced challenges
A communique released by the Tanzanian government announced that President Kenyatta would on Friday morning fly to the north western region of Tanzania to visit President Magufuli on a personal visit that will last two days.
Kenyatta will arrive in Chato at around 10 am and proceed to Magufuli's rural home in the area where they will hold talks.
It is not clear the nature of talks the two leaders will discuss during the private visit although the two countries have recently engaged in diplomatic rows.
Tanzania recently protested utterances by Starehe MP Charles Njagua, alias Jaguar, threatening Tanzanian nationals working in Kenya.
Members of Parliament in Kenya, led by National Assembly Aden Duale, also protested the Tanzanian government's reluctance to issue work permits to Kenyan professionals.
Kenya does not require East African citizens to have work permits although other states have not reciprocated the gesture, with the exception of Rwanda.
