Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich faces arrest over dams scandal.

The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji ordered the arrest of CS Rotich together with Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge over the Arror and Kimwarer dam saga.

Speaking on Monday during a presser, DPP Haji revealed that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations were looking for CS Rotich and PS Thugge to make arrests.

The DPP also ordered the arrest of former KVDA MD David Kimosop, EAC Principal Secretary Susan Koech among others.

DPP, DCI Italy trip on Arror & Kimwarer dams scandal

The orders come after Haji and his team jetted back into the country at the weekend after two weeks in Italy and Dubai in an ongoing corruption probe.

According to the Standard newspaper, the DPP and DCI teams obtained important leads that could have informed the arrest orders against the top government officials.

The team was in Italy where they are believed to have met an Italian Government-owned insurer, SACE which was paid Ksh11.1 billion as an insurance premium for a loan to build the two dams.

Rotich had been summoned by the DCI in March 2018 for during investigations on the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.
