Business were brought to standstill at Ahero town, Nyando sub-county of Kisumu county after residents took to the streets saying that ODM party denied MCA aspirant Ken Ooko (got 6,337 votes) the certificate in favour of Amos Odote (who got 417 votes).

Demonstrators lit bonfires along the key Ahero-Awasi road, stormed ODM's office and painted it red for Jubilee Party.

A resident, John Muga has told the press, which they have threatened to back Jubilee in the Raila’s backyard during the August 8 polls.

"We cannot allow the issuance of certificates based on whether Raila knows their parents or is a relative," Muga said.

Riot police attached to Kisumu have been forced to intervene, as protesters destroyed furniture and property in the vandalised ODM office.

Chanting "No Ken! No Raila!" slogans, they have demanded that the party respects the people’s will adding that they would not contemplate President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In Migosi ward, the people protested against the awarding of a certificate to Pamela Odoyo instead of Victor Rodgers.

The Kisumu-Kakamega road has been brought to a standstill as people protested the award of a certificate to Pamela Odoyo instead of Victor Rodgers for Migosi ward.

The people accused ODM national elections board secretary Bob Arunga of rigging out the winner in favour of Pamela whom they claimed in a relative.

"We want him to stop causing chaos in Raila's backyard by dishing out certificates to losers and relatives," a resident, Mary Auma, said.

Raila Odinga’s ODM party has been embroiled in tough criticism from the party supporters, especially vying for different positions, of meddling elections results in the recently concluded party nominations.
