Government’s plan to deport Joho exposed

Government's plan to deport Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to a foreign nation has been exposed.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has now alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee administration is planning to deport him.

Speaking at Mbaraki sports club on Wednesday in Mombasa, Joho claimed that that government was hatching a plan to portray him as a foreigner before deporting him.

"The government is hatching an elaborate plan regarding my nationality.

“The Jubilee administration’s plans to portray me as a foreigner won’t bear any fruit,” Joho said but failed to divulge more details into the matter.

The Mombasa Governor also hinted that he had warned his former school principals that the detectives were planning to visit them.

“I have already warned my nursery school head teacher to prepare for the EACC’s impromptu visit at her school. Despite all the harassment by the government, I can never be shaken. The EACC is on my neck – looking for my education certificates. That is useless work they are doing,” Joho was quoted by edaily.

The Mombasa Governor is under siege from the government over alleged claims that he forged his KCSE results to gain admission at the University of Nairobi (UON).

On Monday, EACC detectives visited Tom Mboya Primary School in Mombasa as part of investigations into Joho's academic background.

In a letter dated March 28, the anti-graft agency asked the school for documents and information that would facilitate the probe into the Governor.
