Kamanda reveals how Peter Kenneth caused his downfall

Kenneth's sudden downfall has brought about a massive ripple effect across Nairobi.

Most of the politicians in Nairobi who were in Kenneth’s camp were handed heavy defeats in the primaries; which many see as a sign of punishment for those who opposed Sonko’s candidature.

Leading the crop of politicians is seasoned politician and long term serving Starehe MP Maina Kamanda.

Kamanda was forced to eat humble pie and concede defeat in the Jubilee Primaries to popular musician Charles Kanyi Njagua famously known as Jaguar that generated a lot of heat and controversy in the past week.

Punished by Nairobians

Kamanda has finally spoken and said that his loss was attributed to his support for Kenneth.

The Starehe MP said that those politicians allied to Kenneth were heavily punished by Nairobi voters.

“The Peter Kenneth issue caused Jubilee leaders to be divided into two groups. Those who were seen to have endorsed Kenneth had big problems including losing in the nominations,” says Mr Kamanda.

“It is like Nairobians were not happy with us supporting Peter Kenneth,” Kamanda said.

In a strange twist, Kamanda further went on to say that he and several other Nairobi leaders were coerced to support Kenneth during the primaries.

"I was coerced to support Peter Kenneth by forces I will not disclose right now. But we have buried the hatchet," Kamanda said.
