Speaking during a prayer service held in remembrance of Administration police officers killed in a recent terrorist attack, Mr. Nkaissery stated that the rules could not be bent to accommodate Mr. Odinga’s demands.

The CS highlighted that the NASA Presidential candidate was adequately protected.

He added that Odinga was only entitled to three security guards.

Nkaissery utterance comes a day after a letter by Odinga spokesperson Dennis Onyango, asking for his bodyguards be increased from 16 to 50 emerged.

According to the former Prime Minister, his security personnel was ‘under strength’ hence the need to beef it up.

Mr. Odinga highlighted that he wanted one officer in the rank of Superintendent, one Chief Inspector, two Inspectors, two Sergeants, four Corporals, and 24 Police Constables. He has also asked for one Mercedes-Benz, four four-wheel-drive vehicles, and six saloon cars.

“Of the six saloon cars, two will be assigned to chase cars (one front and one rear), two will be in the advance team, one will be in Nairobi for use in the deployment of officers and the other to remain in Nairobi for escort on his return when he flies out," the letter read in part.

Nkaissery's remarks echos Boinnet's sentiments, who also told Odinga that he could not be given more bodyguards.
