The 102 locals led by a Mr Charles Kariuki, want the court to throw away recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) seeking to bar Waiguru from vying for the County’s Gubernatorial seat during the August 8 General Election.
PAC was responsible for investigating the multi-billion National Youth Service (NYS) scandal that happened when Waiguru was the CS.
In its findings, PAC stated that Waiguru ought to be barred from vying as she was the power behind the mega-scam.
The lawmakers highlighted that should be charged and prosecuted.
Moving to court, the residents noted that PAC was witch hunting Waiguru.
They mentioned that the report was aimed at violating Waiguru's right to equal protection of law and right to free, fair and regular election based on free will of voters.
In the court papers, the locals sued the National Assembly, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Attorney-General.
