Speaking during a rally at Kibos grounds in Kisumu NASA principals Raila Odinga (Flag bearer), Kalonzo Musyoka (running mate), Musalia Mudavadi, and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula divulged that they had information that Jubilee was planning to use the Adopt-a-Polling Station Strategy against them.

According to the Opposition leaders, the ruling administration had deployed police officers to arrest their supporters as they guard the votes at the polling stations.

Mr. Kalonzo urged NASA supporters to move away from the voting areas after casting their votes and monitor from a different location.

“We now want our people to vote, leave the stations, and probably move to the nearest market centres, where they will periodically monitor the voter turnout, and then move to the villages to get out the people who have not voted to come out and vote," the Wiper leader said.

Mr. Wetangula noted that this was to ensure that there is no disruption at the polling station that would scare other voters.

The Senator further warned acting Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i against using police to put fear in Kenyans.

Earlier this year, the Opposition launched the Adopt-a-Polling Station initiative where supporters took up stations where they would be responsible for voter turnout and also protecting the votes against rigging.

However, the Government firmly opposed this with Mr. Matiang’i issuing a warning to those who would pitch camp at polling stations.
