In a statement, Odinga who is in Israel, noted that he had warned the Jubilee administration of the consequences when the Sh5.3 Billion scandal broke in MOH but failed to prosecute the suspects.According to the former prime Minister, US suspended its funding because of corruption in the health sector which Uhuru's administration has been unable to stop.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee administration reacted by defending the suspects, calling the Opposition names and rolling out a series of public relations activities meant to sanitize the theft and shield the thieves." Today, what we feared has come to pass. The US government has taken the unfortunate step of suspending its support for Kenya’s health sector because of corruption in the parent ministry," part of the statement reads. The former premier highlighted that the move would paralyse the work the funds had been doing especially in fighting malaria and helping poor people living with HIV/AIDS.

Odinga also noted that key relatives of Uhuru were involved in the scam which compelled the US to stop funding Kenya.
