Raila' team makes unexpected announcement on Uhuru

The Nasa leaders made the announcement during their campaigns in Tharaka Nithi County.

The Nasa leaders who were warmly received in the county said their main problem was Deputy President William Ruto and not President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The leaders described Ruto as a “dangerous man” who should not be allowed to lead the country and was the main reason why Kenyans should send Jubilee home.

“Kenyatta is seeking a second term after which the Constitution won’t allow him to vie. Now we want you to think of Ruto being the president after Kenyatta. So to block Ruto, we must ensure they fall with Kenyatta,” Kalonzo Musyoka said.

Speaking in Chuka and Magutuni in Tharaka Nithi County, Raila termed as propaganda claims by Jubilee leaders that Nasa was behind the revival of the International Criminal Court (ICC) cases.

The Nasa leaders said the cases, which President Kenyatta, DP Ruto, former Head of Civil Services Francis Muthaura, former Police Commissioner Hussein Ali and journalist Joshua arap Sang were facing, were closed hence they had no mandate to revive them.

Raila promised NASA will ensure jobs for youths and economic growth in Tharaka Nithi if it is elected.

“... hapa tumekuja kama wakulima wa kahawa, wa majani chai na najua wako na shida ... sisi tutahakikisha vijana watapata ajira...” he said.

This loosely translates to “We have come here as coffee and tea farmers and we know they have problems but we will ensure the youth get employment.”

“Canaan is our destiny and Tharaka Nithi is part of the Kenyans heading to Canaan.

“Mara hii hakuna kuiba kura tena (This time round there will be no stealing of votes),” Raila said.
