In his friends come together, through a two-hour fundraising meeting, the team managed to raise Sh500 million in support for his re-election campaign in the oncoming elections slated for August.

About 500 people attended the fundraiser at Safari Park hotel in Nairobi and organisers say they hope to raise another half a billion shillings in the next two weeks.

Those in attendance were mainly well known business people who each contributed not less than Sh1 million while others pledged in-kind support.

Uhuru thanked those who contributed and exuded confidence that he will be re-elected.

After the fundraising, the President offered to pray.
