Speaking in Mtongwe, Kenyatta stated that Joho should focus on developing Mombasa and not interfering with projects being developed by national government.
“He should not play with us or else we will teach him a lesson,” Uhuru warned.
The Head of State challenged the Governor to show what he had done for Mombasa residents with the Sh40 Billion his county had been allocated with.
Uhuru’s sentiments come barely hours after the Governor was barred from attending his event
Of launching Mtongwe ferry services.
Joho was accompanied by GSU officers and placed under house arrest at the Mombasa County government offices.
"When we arrived at the venue we found a road block and the officers categorically said I was not allowed in the area," the Governor told journalists at his office.
Joho claimed that the officers told him the President ordered that he should be denied access to the venue.
"I can attend Uhuru's state functions anywhere in this country. What I cannot attend are Jubilee's political rallies," the Governor affirmed.
The ODM deputy party leader stated that the Jubilee administration was using guerrilla tactics which will not deter him from speaking the truth.
The Governor has been a fierce critic of the Jubilee administration and has clashed with the President on several occasions.
Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have pitched camp in the Coast region as they try to woo voters in Jubilee in an area perceived to be an ODM stronghold.
