Making the announcement on Sunday, head of jubilee secretariat Raphael Tuju stated that Pwoka Wanyonyi had been relieved of his duties as the chairman of Jubilee elections board.Tuju admitted that proper intelligence was not done on Mr Wanyonyi prior to his appointment which led to his untimely sacking. "We have removed him because of integrity issue. Other members of the board are intact and ready to move,” Tuju said.

Tuju announced that Mr wanyonyi would be replaced by MR Lumatete Walubengo Muchai, who will be the new jubilee elections board chairman. The former rarieda MP noted that a countrywide exercise to set up county elections boards for Jubilee would start on Monday.Accepting the job, Mr Walubengo said that he was ready to oversee credible nominations for Jubilee which would be free and fair as promised by President Uhuru Kenyatta. “nomination exercise is a very important process that must be done well,” the new chairman stated.

Other members of the elections board include Veska Kangogo, former Kisii mayor Samuel Nyangeso, Dr Samuel Kobia, Mr M.G Waweru, Mr Aden Noor Ali, Ms Leah Ntimama, and Ms Carolyne Kameme Daudi.

Aspirants in the Jubilee party have expressed fears that nominations will not be free and fair. This has prompted some of them to ditch the ruling coalition for the Opposition. IEBC will provide some officers to provide Jubilee with a framework for the nominations which are slated to kick off in April.
