The announcement made on Friday indicates that he will be going back to Vivo Energy as the Vice President, Sales & Marketing division beginning September 1, 2019.
Mr Igathe was working as the MD at Vivo Energy before he accepted to join politics and vie alongside the then Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko for the gubernatorial seat.
His dalliance with politics was, however, short lived as he resigned from the deputy governor post in January 2018 citing frustration from Governor Mike Sonko.
Shortly after leaving the county offices, Igathe joined Equity Bank and for about five months his designation had not been announced.
He was later to be confirmed as the MD in a statement by Dr James Mwangi.
"The Board has completed the process of separating the operations and management of the Kenya subsidiary from that of the Group and appointed Polycarp the Managing Director of Equity Bank Kenya.
"Polycarp’s strong values and passion have enabled him to quickly fit well in the Equity Group organizational culture. He has distinguished himself as a results oriented and committed business leader who is renowned for fostering productive partnerships with external stakeholders and customers, resulting in delivery of outstanding company results.
"He has taken over a very successful subsidiary and market leader. We believe he has the skills, competence, capability and vision to retain Equity Bank Kenya in its leadership position while taking it to the next level," the statement outlined.
