A night of fun turned tragic for a Moi University student after he was stabbed to death on Saturday morning.

Reports indicate that Felix Oduor Ochieng, a Bachelor of Education fourth year student who was three weeks away from clearing his studies met his death after being stabbed to death in a bar brawl.
Eye witnesses revealed that the 3 AM incident started after the deceased accused a second year student at the same institution of stealing his mobile phone and set a mob on him.
Choas ensued as the suspected thief’s friends came to his rescue and it is believed that it is at this point that the deceased was stabbed.
He was rushed to the university’s dispensary before being transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Key suspect arrested
The key suspect in the murder alongside two others has already been arrested and to Kesses Police Station.
Area police boss Abdi Shukri confirmed the incident, blaming it on alcoholism.
He assured them that security has been beefed up in the area and adviced them to uphold good morals.
This comes barely a day after former University of Nairobi student leader OCS Ragira was shot dead at club 36, just a few meters from the University.
On March 4, a student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), was admitted to Thika Level 5 Hospital after being stabbed by two armed men at High Point in Juja, Kiambu
A month earlier, Tabitha Muthoni, a first-year student at the same institution was stabbed to death as she tried to fight off robbers.
