According to his brother Abdi Adan Ali who confirmed the reports, Huka died on Sunday morning at his home after his returned from Mombasa where he has been undergoing treatment.

It is so unfortunate and sad that our brother died this morning after returning from Mombasa where he had been undergoing treatment. He died at home ... we are making arrangements for the burial this afternoon after prayers at the Lang'ata Cemetery,” said his brother Abdi Adan Ali.

Ali said the former MP had been sick for almost year.

The former Mandera South MP was elected to Parliament in 2013 with the United Republican Party ticket but did not seek re-election in 2017 following decree by the now defunct Garre Council of Elders in Mandera
