Former Sports CS makes a low key appearence at DP Ruto's event

Echesa resurfaces as DP Ruto announces major partnership

Former sports CS Rashid Echesa who was fired from the Cabinet last month made a comeback to the public, accompanying Deputy President at an event where the DP announced a new partnership deal.

As opposed to the fiery CS who was spitting fire and even daring former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to fire him, Echesa’s low-key appearance in Lurambi, Kakamega county  cut the image of the son of a peasant he once claimed he was.

The former sports CS was among the guests during the One Acre Fund milestone celebration of supporting smallholder farmers.

Echesa who has maintained a low-profile since his controversial sacking posted on Twitter that he “accompanied H.E Dr @WilliamsRuto to the One Acre Fund milestone celebration of supporting small scale farmers in Lurambi ,Kakamega County.”

The event which was presided over by Deputy President William Ruto saw the DP announce a new partnership between the Organization and the government that will see it increase the number of farmers under its assistance programme from 400,000 to one million in the next four years.

Through his official Twitter account, Dr. Ruto stated that “A host-country agreement with One Acre Fund will enable it increase the number of farmers under its assistance programme from 400,000 to one million in the next four years.”

The areas of collaboration will focus on key areas aimed at ensuring food security that is part of Jubilee government’s big four agenda.
