Uhuru should be sober when addressing Kenyans - Atwoli

The veteran trade unionist who has voted for all Kenya’s four Presidents' had one last advice to Kenyatta as he gears to convince Kenyans to vote for Him again within the next 60 days.

On 1 September the Supreme Court nullified Kenya’s presidential results as invalid, null and void after it found out, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) breached the constitution in transmission of the results.

“A declaration is here that the president elections held on 8th August was not conducted in accordance with the constitution and therefore it is invalid, null and void” Chief Justice David Maraga read the verdict.

Mr. Atwoli had a press briefing today at COTU headquarters located at Solidarity building in Nairobi and had the following message to President Kenyatta.

“I am appealing to his excellency the president to be a little bit sober, sober up because even the way he is addressing the public he appears not sober, he should be himself” he said.

Immediately after the verdict a charged president Uhuru addressed the nation and said he personally respect the courts verdict but disagrees with it.

However while addressing an impromptu rally at Buma market he criticised the judges, led by Chief Justice David Maraga, calling them 'wakora' (thugs).

"Maraga and his thugs have decided to cancel the election. Now I am no longer the president-elect. I am the serving president. Maraga should know that he is now dealing with the serving president," Uhuru said in Kiswahili.

“A few people have sat there thinking they know it all, but we have said, because we believe in peace and because we believe in the rule of law, let them say what they want,” he added.

He also took to social media and tore at chief Justice Maraga and the Supreme Court.

“if I was president Uhuru Kenyatta today I would still be thinking what to do, you just don’t hit the road immediately start politicking you would make a lot of mistakes in the process and even those who voted for you will change their minds…sober up you have your supporters, Raila has his supporters prepare your troops well go back we has voters, some of us were born voters will come out and vote for you.” Atwoli said.
