The government official identified as Gerald Maina Ndirangu, had been apprehended at a bar with the kit after his disappearance.
Ndirangu who appeared before Murang’a Principal Magistrate Edwin Nyaga on Thursday, was charged with sabotaging the process for residents of Gikandu sub-location.
The leader was later released on Sh100,00 bond while he waits for the hearing of the case on June 14.
Following the incident, the area locals were forced to do the registration process in the neighboring sub-locations.
Matiang'i states failure of registration has consequences
In a different case, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i warned Kenyans that failure of registering for the Huduma Namba had consequences.
The CS remarked that no citizen will be forced to participate in the process as direct by the ruling made by the High Court.
