According to the Interior and Coordination of National Government Ministry, the farewell party was held at the InterContinental Hotel, in Nairobi.
Some of the high profile individuals present at the ceremony included; Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and his PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and DCI George Kinoti, among other high ranking government officials.
“Dr.@FredMatiangi was among the state officers who attended a farewell party for Mr. @JBoinnet at InterContinental Hotel, Nairobi. The immediate former Inspector General of the @NPSOfficial_KE is now the Chief Administrative Secretary in the @Min_TourismKE,” read a tweet from the Interior Ministry.

The farewell party comes barely two months after Boinett was sworn in as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Tourism and Wildlife Ministry.
He was appointed CAS by President Uhuru Kenyatta after his tenure as Inspector General of Police came to an end in April, 2019.
