Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has ordered the arrest of owners, caretakers or tenants of seven buildings in Nairobi that have allegedly violated a county by-law.

The order for arrest outlined that the buildings had failed to comply with a recent order to have buildings in Nairobi re-painted.
The notice further outlined that the buildings have not been re-painted over the past two years as required by the Public Health Cap 242 and County By-Laws.
"We believe that they all read our notice which we published in the local dailies and that is why we are going for them.
"Those being targeted for arrest are the owners of buildings, caretakers and the users of the buildings," a statement by acting County Secretary Leboo Morintat read in part.
Caretaker of buildings in Nairobi CBD arrested
The blacklisted buildings in Nairobi CBD are Ambassador House, Lois House, Jiame House, Karachi House, Leon House and Commercial House.
The county government managed to arrest the caretaker of Karachi House Ms Jane Asena and the director of an unnamed building along Latema Road Ms Anna Nana Matei.
The county government warned that the other buildings found in violation of the county code will be shut down.
