In November, Obado was arrested for questioning over guns found in his house when EACC detectives raided it.
EACC raid
Eight guns were late last year recovered from Governor Obado’s two homes in Migori and Nairobi following a five-hour search by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
The prosecutor had argued that Obado did not give proper account for the possession of the firearm which is contrary to the Firearms Acts.
Detectives from EACC staged a five-hour-long search in Obado’s homes, with documents that could aid in an ongoing investigation in the misappropriation of Ksh.2 billion county funds were obtained during the operation.
