Here are all the jokes on Kisumu county's Sh3.7 million cow

Kenyans on Friday took to social media where they expressed their indignation to a report by the Auditor General Edward Ouko showing that the Kisumu County Government spent Sh3.7 million to purchase a single cow.

Ouko said that the department of agriculture had been allocated Sh 3.7 million in the financial year 2017/2018 for the purchase of 27 dairy ayrshire cows.

However, the auditors established that only one cow could be verified and raised the red flag over possible misappropriation of public funds.

The Auditor General further noted that the tendering and the delivery process was flouted, making it impossible to establish if there was value for money.

The delivery truck used to ferry the cows was not registered as required while those who lost the tender award were not informed of the results in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act.

The report has gone viral with most netizens using humor to express their anger at the blatant misuse of taxpayer's money.

"I would like to see two things--the COW that was purchased, and the COW that made the purchase!!" Daniel Nzau said on Twitter.

"The cash cow (they took it literally) Kisumu county bought for Kes. 3.7M," Somane Ismail wrote.

"I have a cow, pls can I sell to them please, it's coming with shoes, earrings and long pony hair.. It got tight udder and can produce 56ltrs of milk daily... Please pls.. Anyang nyongo, consider me.. Will bring it for 3m only," Winny Nyams said on Facebook.

"The cow is fully digitized, u don't milk it...u just download milk. U dont feed it...u just upload some hay....u don't spray it....u just scan ticks and then u clik them before dragging them to the bin," Field Marshal Karatu joked.

"Kisumu cows are international cows🤗🤗 and they have interior processors for their products. Unakamua unapata yorghurt ama butter sometime you milk meat and they never die🤗🤗🤗🤗 I love the kisumu cows. Don't doubt the price at all," another netizen sarcastically commented.

"This must be the "golden cow/calf" the Israelites worshipped in the Sinai Desert... I know understand why Moses was furious," Nancy Muya said.
