I am terrified, there were two men who wanted to do bad things to me – Ndindi Nyoro

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has revealed his scary experience in the hands of police officers who arrested him on Monday night while attending a live TV show in Murang’a town.

Nyoro said he was terrified after some police officers disclosed to him a plan that had been hatched to place him in the same cell with two alleged male hardcore criminals.

The MP said he was briefly held at Murang’a Police Station before he was escorted to Nairobi’s Kamukunji police station under heavy police protection.

I am begging that police officers should not be dragged into political battles. One of those who arrested me even told me he had a master’s degree. Please, let no one think of harming me because I know of those plans.

"Why was I being taken to Kamukunji Police Station? Yesterday, I got a report from officers who are my friends, that they had planned to take me to a cell which was holding two male cellmates who were involved in serious crime. They had bad plans for me. I cannot speak much because I am terrified,” Nyoro stated.

The MP was released from police custody after several MPs and Senators from the Tanga Tanga squad camped outside the Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi.

Nyoro spoke outside the Murang’a law courts where he presented himself to face charges of disrupting public peace, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

However, the charges were dropped in unclear circumstances – after police bosses held a conversation with his close friend - Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata.
