AU envoy Raila Odinga was spotted in the stands cheering his granddaughter during her sports day.

The for Prime Minister joined other parents in encouraging the pupils who had their sports day on Wednesday morning.

Mr Odinga, wearing a redcap in support of the red team bonded with other parents who had attended the sports day.

"It was a welcome change from the usual office rounds to attend my granddaughter's sports day this morning."

"Apart from the physical benefits, sports also inculcates the spirit of teamwork in our young as they grow up," the leader of Oppositions said.

The AU envoy has been known for his love of sports especially football and even admits to being an Arsenal fan and also serves as patron of the Gor Mahia football club in Kenya.

He has used his love for football to bond with his supporters especially on the campaign trail where he introduces his team as a football commentator would.
