Interruption as some delegates demand for Raila Odinga to be kicked out of BBI Mt Kenya meeting in Meru

There was drama on Friday afternoon after ODM Leader Raila Odinga arrived in Meru for a BBI delegates meeting ahead of the BBI Mt Kenya rally that will be held tomorrow.

A section of the delegates started shouting and calling for Odinga to be evicted from the meeting as he is not a local leader.

The meeting's emcee, MC Jessy, had to intervene on multiple occasions as delegates exchanged harsh words.

Those supportive of Odinga told their anti-Odinga colleagues to leave the meeting if they were unhappy with the the ODM leader's presence.

The meeting ultimately proceeded with Odinga expected to make his speech later in the afternoon.

The meeting's host, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi on Friday morning said the meeting was strictly meant to address the issues facing the Mt Kenya region - insisting that outsiders would not be allowed to speak.

The rally is expected to escalate the local political differences which has seen the region split into camps headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and a

Another faction that is loyal to Deputy President William Ruto.
