Is she you daughter? Waiguru pressured to explain relation with new UNSA Chair Anne Mwangi Mvurya

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Monday congratulated Anne Mwangi Mvurya after she became the first woman elected to chair the University of Nairobi Student Association (UNSA).

Waiguru’s message was, however, lost in the noise that her post elicited – nearly all the netizens noting the striking resemblance between the two Annes and many asking the Governor to disclose her relationship with the new UoN student leader.

Celebrating another First for Women in Leadership in Kenya. Congratulations to Anne Mwangi Mvurya on being elected the 1st female chair of the University of Nairobi Student Association. We are proud of your victory,” Waiguru stated in a caption accompanied by Ms Mvurya’s photo.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s former speech writer, Eric Ng’eno was among the first to comment – urging Waiguru to come clean.

Madam Gavana, just tell us she is your daughter. Hatutaskia vibaya” blogger Ndungu Nyoro asked the Governor.

The two of you should find out whose father crossed the river,” journalist Emmanuel Lemiso replied to Waiguru’s post.

You look together, immediately and again!! ..is she your daughter?” Moreen Moraa asked.

The University of Nairobi student organization, previously known as Student Organisation of Nairobi University (Sonu) is one of the most vibrant associations in Kenyan history.

Ms Mvurya will join a long list of former Sonu politicians who rose to take up positions in national politics.

They include Siaya Senator James Orengo, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, activist Miguna Miguna, among others.
