Mandago forced to take up new hard job for over 1hour by Eldoret residents

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago was on Saturday evening forced to assume new responsibilities not specified in his job contract as governor.

Mr. Mandago was on Saturday forced to become traffic marshal for over an over and try to bring sanity back on the roads after traffic police officers went missing from all routes.

He was spotted controlling vehicles especially along the Eldoret-Iten road where he had been held in a heavy snarl up.

“When all of you don’t want to obey traffic regulations it does not help anyone and we end up getting stuck unnecessarily”, Mandago told the matatu operators at the Iten road-Highlands junction who openly broke traffic regulations worsening the traffic jams.

Eldoret town has narrow roads which is responsible for the heavy traffic jams.

it is said his officers tried in vain to open the traffic for him forcing the angry governor to alight from his car and personally take charge to restore flow by directing the vehicles.

He said it was unfortunate that no traffic officer was on the road at the time.

Mandago said he decided to take charge to avoid having many people waste time in the traffic jams.
