Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a man for threatening Tharaka Nithi County Woman Representative Beatrice Nkatha.

Announcing the arrest, DCI said that Joel Nyamao was arrested on Friday for sending abusive messages to the legislator not once, but many times.
He was arrested by detectives from DCI Headquarters.
“Mr. Joel Lawrence Nyamao was yesterday arrested by @DCI_Kenya Detectives from the Headquarters for sending threatening & abusive messages to Hon.Beatrice Nkatha, the #TharakaNithi County Women Representative,” read a tweet from DCI.

During the arrest, several other items were recovered from the suspect’s house which included; assorted Handsets and ID Photocopies.
Sim cards from all mobile service providers and lists with names and contacts of legislators were also recovered.
“Also confiscated are the following items:- 19 Safaricom SIM cards, 18 Airtel SIM cards, Telkom SIM card, 20 Safaricom Card Holders, 3 Lists bearing hand written mobile numbers & names of MPs and Senators,” said DCI.
The suspect is in lawful custody and will be arraigned in Court on Monday.
