The suspects were identified as Joel Nganga Wainaina, Oliver Kanyango Muthee, Gladys Kaari Justus, Guleid Abdihakim and Osman Ibrahim.
The five, among them a Canadian national, were presented before Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku under a miscellaneous application.
Police were granted orders to have the five remain in custody for 30 days to allow for investigations before charges against them are decided.
Close Contact with Attackers
Two of the suspects are taxi drivers who ferried attackers to several locations and to the Dusit Hotel on the day of the attack.
The others included an M-pesa agent who sent them money, another was in communication with the attackers and the last one was captured by CCTV cameras talking to one of the attackers.
According to the leading investigator boss, Ms Monica Githaiga, the five had been taken in due to their access to the prime suspects.
Police indicated that the suspects arraigned in court had kept close contact with the key perpetrators of the attack.
Reports also indicate that the wife of one of the attackers, Violet Kemunto, was still on the run, being pursued by law enforcers.
Director of public prosecution Noordin Haji confirmed the reports in a statement issued moments after the court granted investigators the 30 days.
