Junet Mohamed given special recognition at BBI launch at Bomas of Kenya

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed was on Wednesday given the special honor of coordinating speeches from political leaders attending the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Mohamed took over from BBI Chairman Senator Yusuf Haji who was in charge of opening the event and coordinated the first part of the programme which involved speeches from members of the BBI committee.

The programme of political speeches appeared to be carefully programmed as only pro-handshake MPs were given a chance to address the gathering.

Among those who Junet invited to speak included Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga, Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli, and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

Party leaders including Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka were among those who Junet invited to speak.

The Suna East MP has had a growing political star, courtesy of his close political ties with ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

Junet was among the few Odinga confidants who accompanied the former Prime Minister during the famous March 9 closed door meeting that led to the handshake and subsequently the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
