I am in NASA to take Jubilee home in August polls

Kalonzo, who spoke from Ufanisi Hotel in Kisii on his mission for a voter registration drive, has responded to the article earlier published on Tuesday by the Daily Nation, alleging that he might turn his back on opposition colleagues and go it alone in the upcoming election.

"Nobody will stop me from seeking the flag-bearer seat," Kalonzo has told journalists in Kisii.

"I have no apologies to make for saying that I will seek the NASA presidential ticket. Please let us remain focused," he added.

“I am in Nasa to stay, unless the National Delegates Convention decides otherwise. If they say I am not fit to represent the party in any position, it is only then that I can abide and of course with proper reasons,” he said.

Musyoka has said he would not have attended the first meeting of NASA leaders in Bomet County last weekend had he been making his own plans.

"I attended the first major event in Bomet. If I had intentions of wanting to run separately I would have not gone to the event. Some of the people propagating this lie may be agents who want to cause suspicion," he said.

He has also rubbished claims that he has a list of preferred candidates in his party in his backyard and reckoned that such people are spreading mere propaganda.

Recently at the Bomas of Kenya, Musyoka teamed up with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Amani National Coalition (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula to form National Super Alliance NASA as their political vehicle to wrestle with President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party in the upcoming polls.

The modalities of picking the presidential candidate, however, remain thorn in the flesh, analyst Mutahi Ngunyi arguing that the fallout might come when Orange Democratic Movement’s Raila Odinga will be sidelined in the selection.

It is highly probable that Odinga will carry the day, even as talks intensify to resolve the puzzle.

Meanwhile Musyoka has been in Kisii region for the past two days mobilizing residents to register as voters. He is expected to address Nyamira residents later today.
