Police station raided, Guns stolen as officers watched football match on Tuesday Night

Kamorwon Administration Police post in Nandi County, was on Tuesday night raided as officers had gone to watch a football match between Barcelona and Manchester United.

Corporal Rodgers Masiwa, who confirmed the incident, stated that an unknown group of people gained access to the station and stole three firearms and rounds of ammunition.

“On entering the house, they found the steel box which contained the guns and ammunition and broken into it.

“Three rifles namely, G3 FMP 77095029, G3 FMP 7709443 and G3 A3 F91879 each with a magazine of 20 rounds of ammunition of 7.62mm, were found missing, while 17 and 20 rounds of ammunition, had been left behind,” remarked Masiwa.

No officer at the police station

He further revealed that the building at the time of the incident, had no officer manning it, and the stolen weapons were only noticed missing after the lot returned to the police post at midnight.

Corporal Masiwa filed the report of the incident at Kobujoi Police Station and investigations into the matter have begun.
