KeNHA warns of collapsed Likoni-Lunga Lunga road after rains in Kwale County

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued an alert over a collapsed culvert crossing that has rendered the Likoni-Lunga Lunga road in Kwale County impassable.

A video had earlier been shared of the road before it collapsed as large long-distance buses ferrying passengers passed through as usual.

It has not been established when the road finally gave in, however, no casualties have been reported.

"Following the ongoing heavy rains being experienced at the Coast Region, motorists are being advised to exercise caution while driving.

"Heavy goods vehicles plying the Likoni-Lunga Lunga road have been re-routed to the Lunga Lunga-Kwale-Kombani road following the damage of the culvert at Muhogo. The contractor is already on site remedying the damage," the notice read.
