In a video circulating online, the woman can be seen protesting, demanding for her baby's food in front of a policeman.
Witnesses say that the woman was asked to leave her child's food behind since it is prohibited to carry food inside the train.
In their statement, the Kenya Railways reinforced this message saying: "We wish to remind our passengers and customers that alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cooked food are strictly prohibited into the termini and stations."
Kenyans call out Kenya Railways
It continued: "These items will be confiscated at the security checkpoints at the termini and stations."
This statement did not sit well with Kenyans who accused Kenya Railways of swindling them by charging exorbitant prices on the food served in the trains.
Some questioned this policy arguing that parents with infants were not considered since they have to carry special meals for their little ones.
Kenya Railways was also called out by Kenyans who criticized the food offered on the train saying it was of bad quality and not up to standard.
