Kenya scoops 30 international awards in 1 night

The 26th Annual edition of the World Travel Awards saw Kenya emerge winners in more than 10 different categories at the fascinating event which took place at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.

Leading figureheads and powerful decision-makers in the travel industry attended the Grand Final Gala Ceremony which was held in November 28th.

The World Travel Awards acknowledges, rewards and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

Kenya stole the show at the event as it emerged winners in 30 categories.

Kenya was was named as Africa’s leading destination, beating rivals Madgascar, South Africa and Egypt that are known for travel and tourism.

The capital, Nairobi was named as Africa’s leading Business Travel destination.

Kenya has also been chosen as the venue for World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean ceremonies come the year 2020.

Kenya airways bagged two awards for being Africa's leading Airline in Economy and Business class, Diani beach emerged the winner for Africa's leading Beach Destination while Destination Kenya was named as Africa’s leading Destination Management company.

Leopard Beach Resort & Spa emerged the winner in Africa’s leading family resort while the residences at the Resort were also named as Africa’s leading hotel Residences.
