Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyoit accuses President Uhuru of gate-crashing Ruto's meeting

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyoit on Tuesday accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of gate-crashing an Akorino meeting organized by his deputy.

Cheruyoit was responding to claims that the DP broke protocol by arriving after the President had arrived into the meeting held at Kasarani Stadium.

The Senator, who is an insider in Ruto’s camp, claimed that the Akorino Conference was “Ruto’s meeting”.

On the issue of whether he was supposed to be there and his late arrival, I will tell you without battling an eye-lid that this was his meeting. They planned this with the leadership of the Akorino church.”

I know this for a fact because I happened to pass by the Deputy President’s office and I met him with the Akorino leadership and they were preparing for this function. He is the one who bought them that 6-acre land to construct a college,” the Senator said.

Unfortunate speech

The Kericho Senator added that the comments by the head of state were unfortunate as they appeared to vilify leaders who held a differing opinion.

Ruto’s allies, infamously known as Tanga Tanga camp, have come out to accuse President Kenyatta for his angry speech that appeared to target them.

On Monday, Kandara MP Alice Wahome accuse the head of state of intimidating leaders who hold a differing opinion.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, in a controversial post on Sunday evening, sensationally claimed that Kenyatta had made the angry speech while under the influence of alcohol.
