The programmes aired by Pay-TV service provider Multichoice DSTV were prohibited after Kenyan parents launched complaints concerning the content their children were being exposed to.

Mr Mutua banned the six programmes stating that they were promoting homosexuality among the young ones.

“The Kenya Film Classification Board has this morning banned several kids programs on DSTV that promote homosexuality.

“This follows investigations prompted by complaints from members of the public that several cartoon programs on DSTV were laced with subtle messages normalising, glamorising or even glorifying homosexual behaviour contrary to the law and the KFCB Classification Guidelines,” KFCB statement read in part.

Mr Mutua divulged that the Board had written to Multichoice to immediately stop airing the cartoon.

The six include Loud House, the Legend of the Korra and Hey Arnold, available on Nickelodeon (DSTV).

Others are Clarance, Steven Universe and Adventure Time, all available on Cartoon Network.

The KFCB CEO highlighted that it was the duty for the Government to protect minors and children of impressionable minds from exposure to inappropriate content that runs counter to our cultural values.
