Ken Okoth denies allegations he has defected to Wiper because of Raila’s daughter

Rumours had been circulating that Okoth had defected because he could not face off in a fair contest with the daughter of Raila Odinga, Rosemary Odinga in the ODM primaries.

Kibra MP (Ken Okoth) said he was a life member of ODM and he had already paid his nomination fees which meant that he was going all way to the nominations.

Kibra MP Ken Okoth has denied claims that he had ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for the Wiper Party.

“May I state it here categorically that those are false allegations fabricated by my competitors in the ODM nominations race. They are so scared to face me in content, substance, depth, intellect and experience that they have thus resorted to medieval propaganda tactics which seem to be a basis of their manifesto,” Ken Okoth said on a post on his Facebook wall.

On the contrary, just like mud merchants they are, they can continue listing their online hirelings in this wicked assignment to spread malice - they believe in their moments of mischief that they can fool the people of Kibra,” he added.

He further maintained that he was a life member of ODM and he had already paid his nomination fees which meant that he was going all way to the nominations.

Rosemary Odinga's entry

Last week, Rosemary Odinga officially announced her entrance into elective politics by declaring that she would be contesting for the Kibra Parliamentary seat in the August polls on an ODM ticket.

Rosemary, who made the declaration on Saturday, January 21 in Kibra, said she is ready to serve as the Member of Parliament in an area that his father represented for 20 years.

Soon after her declaration, Okoth welcomed Rosemary and went further to state that he was open to competition from without any fear of intimidation.

"I support women and Rosemary is welcome to Kibra, I promise her that we will face-off on matters issues and no one will attack her with unnecessary propaganda. In fact, I allow challenges because I believe the higher the challenge the bigger the glory," said Okoth.
