Anyang’ Nyong'o makes controversial decision after being sworn in

After being sworn in Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o...

During his term, Ranguma had opted to set up his office at the Former Nyanza Provincial Headquarters building as opposed to the county hall; acquiring more than three floors of the building to house county staff before eventually relocating to the ninth floor of the building.

According to Nyong’o, he believes that he will not be productive in that office.

"I do not like the ninth floor office. I am more productive in the second floor. Must I suffer in the ninth floor just because a lot of money was used to renovate it?” Nyong’o was quoted by Standard Digital.

He went on to link the renovation of Ranguma’s office to corruption saying “My work is more important than the corruption that informed the renovating of the ninth floor office”.

25 million shillings was used to renovate Ranguma’s office during his term.

Nyong’o, who was sworn in on Monday, was among those that criticized Ranguma’s move of office to the ninth floor during his term saying that Ranguma was making himself unavailable to the electorates.

On the issue that resources would be wasted during a repeated relocation of the governor’s office, Nyong’o rubbished the claims saying that he would use the simple furniture that he will find in the offices at the second floor.
