A youth leader of the National Youth Council in Kitui Rural Constituency was on Wednesday found murdered and his hands and chest burnt before the body was dumped in a bush.

Police officers from Itoleka Police Station in Katulani Sub-County, arrived at the scene after they were alerted by the area residents.
Reports indicated that the attackers responsible for the death of the leader identified as Benjamin Muema Kinyali, used a car tyre which was put on his chest, poured petrol on him and set him on fire.
The fire went out after a while and only affected his hands and chest where the tyre had been placed.
The whereabouts of the killers remains unknown, as they escaped after carrying out the gruesome act.
Katulani Sub-County Police Commander, Ngetich remarked that the deceased’s wife was arrested after she went to report the incident.
Kinyali had been part of the vocal group that drummed support for Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu during the 2017 General Elections.
Ngetich noted that the youth official wife was apprehended to facilitate the police with tracing his last moments.
Preliminary information alleged that Kinyali had gone out to drink with his colleagues before they dropped him home on Tuesday night.
Ragira shot dead by alleged Mungiki gang members
Last month, former UoN student leader and politician Samuel Ragira was brutally murdered after he questioned the harassment of Club 36 traders by criminals.
Ragira, popularly known as OCS was calimed to have been shot dead after he confronted some of the members of the gang at Club 36 market which is opposite Nairobi Primary School.
The politician before his death, had reiterated that police in the area had done nothing to stop the menace caused by the group which he alleged was the notorious outlawed Mungiki.
