OCS kills himself, after shooting dead his girlfriend

Likoni Deputy Officer Commanding station (OCS) Joab Omondi has killed himself after shooting dead his girlfriend identified as Peninah at the at Lovely Bar in Mtongwe following a quarrel.

According to Nation, the incident happened on Thursday night at around 11.40 pm, after the officer picked a quarrel with Peninah who had served him at the joint.

It not yet clear what could have caused a heated verbal exchange between the two prompting the officer to shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. Reports indicate that Omondi shot Peninah in the head without even blinking.

Peninah was rushed to Coast General Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately she did not survive and her body was moved to the mortuary.

"Body moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary. The motive of the shooting is yet to be established," the report reads in part.

Police from the Inuka Police Station have launched an investigation into the incident.
