Blow to Matiang'i after Court Orders

Do not do it sir!

The Employment and Labour Relations Court made a temporary restriction until the final ruling is made following a case filed by activist Okiya Omtatah.

Mr. Omtatah argued that Matiang’i  had been reluctant to appoint a new  CEO yet Mohammed’s contract at the NGO Board ended on November 23.

According to the vocal activist, the Interior CS was planning to irregularly renew, reappoint, or extend the Fazul’s tenure. Mr. Omtatah told the court that this would be in violation of the law as the NGO boss is not to continue in office beyond the contractual term.

Presiding over the case Justice Hellen Wasilwa ruled that renewing Mohammed’s contract should seize temporarily.

“Court is hereby pleased to issue an interim order restraining the Interior CS or any person acting in his authority from renewing, re-appointing or in any way whatsoever extending Mr. Mohammed’s contractual tenure,” Justice Wasilwa directed.

Omtatah divulged that Mohammed ought to have gone for a six-month terminal leave to allow a new CEO to be appointed and transition conducted smoothly.

Fazul has been on the spot over his academic qualification for the top job at the NGO Board. He has been accused of using forged papers to secure the position.
