Babu Owino's statement after police allegedly shot dead a student leader

So sad

The vocal MP who was the longest serving student leader in the student organization of Nairobi University (SONU) said that the police officer who shot Evans Njoroge must be arrested and prosecuted.

"The policeman who shot dead comrade Evans Njoroge must be arrested and prosecuted. How can an empty skull/ a village salad kill a comrade?" he said in a post on his social media accounts.

Evans Njoroge who served as the Student Council Secretary General was allegedly shot on the head by the police during a student’s protest on fee increment by the university's administration.

On Wednesday details emerged on the last words the Meru University student leader Evans Njoroge had made before he was killed by police officers.

According to the Chairman Student Association of Meru University (SAMU) Wangila Wabomba, Njoroge had sent him a message of encouragement before his death.

"Chairman am sorry I have been late,go refresh and get me back in the field , we must win," Njoroge texted Wabomba in what would become his last words.
