Woman dies during childbirth over doctors' carelessness in Bungoma

Doctors cut a wrong vein.

According to the family of the deceased, Rachael Chege, a report by doctors indicated that she was cut at a wrong place during the operation.

“Postmortem shows that doctors cut the vein leading to ovary,” said Paul Chege, the father.

Mrs. Chege, the mother of one, succumbed to the operation when she was delivering her second child.

Her husband Samuel Chege together with his in-law, recounted how doctors moved them from one place to another after they suspected that his wife could be in danger.

“I got confused when I arrived at the hospital and doctors told me to come back later, after a while they told me to keep on praying, and ten they called me together with my in-law and started to counsel,” said the husband.

Justice

The family’s effort to reach out to doctors for explanation could not bear fruits after being told that doctors were in a meeting.

They are now demanding for justice for their daughter whom they say could have survived if doctors were careful with their job.
