New details emerge on the alleged shooting of Meru University student leader by police

This is after an autopsy was done

He said the student leader was shot through the back of the head and the bullet exited through the ear causing instant death and that a full report would be given after two weeks.

"We have established that the pistol was placed on his head and shot. The single shot caused multiple skull fractures and damage on the brain leading to instant death," said Njue.

The autopsy was led by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor and Dr Scholastica Kimani, and was done in the presence of the family doctor, Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA) officials and criminal investigation officers at the Meru Level Five Hospital.

Evans Njoroge who served as the Meru University of Science and Technology Student Council Secretary General was allegedly shot on the head by the police on Tuesday during a student’s protest on fee increment by the university's administration.
