It is one year since Chris Msando was killed and this is how the family is remembering his brutal murder

The family of slain Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT Manager Chris Msando is still hurting deeply after his brutal murder witnessed last year days to the General Election.

While marking the 1st Anniversary since his death, the family published an emotional message to remember the husband, father, son, and uncle whose life was cut short in what has since been described as an election- instigated murder.

"Days have turned into a year since that Saturday morning when you were brutally murdered. But those who mean so much to us are never really gone, for in our thoughts and in our hearts memory still lives on.

"The memory of you will never grow old. We miss your smile your generosity, your sense of humor and your loving nature, Your life to us was a blessing and you were loved beyond measure," the message reads in part.

The family went on to quote the bible stating: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can kill both soul and body."

Msando’s family has organized a memorial service at Christ the King Catholic Church Embakasi on July 28, and another one at his rural home which will take place on August 17.

The former IEBC official left behind his wife Eva Buyu and five children.

Ms. Eva is on record stating that investigations into her husband's death have never been concluded.
